The Children and Future Foundation is a social welfare corporation foundation that conducts various welfare projects for children, adolescents, and young adults in Korea and abroad. As of this year, the foundation has accumulated KRW 190 billion in donations and has signed business agreements with about 100 companies and organizations to support the education and welfare of children and youth.
The foundation runs its own education and medical support campaigns based on its mission and vision of pursuing a society where all children can dream and achieve a bright and healthy future.
The foundation's welfare programs, which are funded by donations from companies and individuals, consist of the domestic campaigns 'Dream Room Talent Scholarship' and 'Medical Support for Children' and the overseas campaign 'FC Malawi' to help children in Malawi, Africa. Through these campaigns, the foundation continues to support children's education and medical support.
Since 2013, the 'Dream Room Talent Scholarship' has been providing scholarships to children and young people who are talented in various fields such as sports, music, and art, but are unable to fulfill their dreams due to financial difficulties. The scholarships, which are paid semi-annually until high school graduation, are used to pay for school fees, lessons, equipment, and materials. Through this support, the scholarship recipients have been able to focus on their studies without the financial burden of high tuition fees and have shown clear results, winning prizes in competitions and contests.
In particular, the recent achievements of the Dream Room Talent Scholars stand out. They have achieved high achievements such as winning the team competition in the secondary school division of the National Men's and Women's Fencing Championships and placing first in the soccer division of the General Sports Competition. They are also contributing to the cultivation of practical professional talents, such as the case of a scholarship recipient who won the grand prize for traditional Korean dance at the National Gugak Competition and was admitted to the Korea National University of Arts.
'Medical Support for Children' is a medical expense support program of the Iowa Future Foundation that has been running since 2017. It supports children and adolescents who need medical help but are struggling with financial problems. The proportion of families with children with severe, rare, and incurable diseases who are economically marginalized basic recipients is as high as 67%. Therefore, the goal of the Children's Medical Support Project is to support children up to the age of 24 with medical expenses to reduce the financial burden of surgery, treatment, and rehabilitation devices, and to help all family members dream of a healthy future.
